i think that the project we did in class reflected how there can be several representations of cities. we saw the negative and positive of all the cities we were assigned. It made us think about how people may view Detroit. Peopl's views may be misconstrued. Some think its very negative and they haven't stepped foot here, but there are others who'll think its a great city because of the Superbowl image or the auto show. I think that there is a balance of negative and positive images or views of Detroit or of any major city.

i believe that perception of something can be misconstrued through presentation. A reason being that people tend to represent the best of something if they are in favor of it or they'll do the total opposite. When someone is trying to get you to percieve something the way that they see it, they'll usually represent it in a matter where it'll change your opinion or view.

i also believe that they did the homeless/houseless wrong. For the Superbowl they suddenly create a place to shelter them or even pay to ship them off momentarily, however on a regular day or year, they dont have any shelters. They are closing them down, but they have numerous animal shelters. Dont get me wrong, i love animals but i believe that people are more precious. People run the world and our government not puppies and cats. Whenever the cat becomes the president then i'll agree with having more animal shelters than homeless shelters and soup kitchens.

The Superbowl was said to be an huge success...mostly everyone said that it was one of the best superbowls hosted. Im not sure if thats right or not LOL but i do know that the city looked brand new and i could hardly believe my eyes. Downtown looked wonderful and some of the streets were fixed...however we must need to throw somethin ever year just so we can keep new bulbs in our street lights and get potholes fixed.

The parking is also going to be ridiculous...Im not goin to class today or 2moro becuz there are shuttles leaving and going to Wayne State and i already have a hard time tryin to park with just the students. So adding more traffic isnt helping me any. Even though i come down to school at 8 oclock everyday.

Well the Superbowl is this weekend n I really think that Detroit is putting up a fake front to impress its visitors. However if it takes us to host major events just to have a clean city, they should probably host something every year. I believe that they are wrong to give the homeless shelter for just the week and then kick them out the next. I think the city's priorities are all wrong. Im not sayin the Superbowl is wrong for being held here, but Detroit should have their act together before and after this event!!!
